I have a minor pc problem which I am unable to fix with my limited knowledge. When I click some web page links, if they dont load up immediately I am diverted to a page that has links for almost anything. I guess that the makers of this page charge people to put their web links on it but it is of no use to me and I would rather not see it. I guess this is a common problem but does anyone know how it can be fixed? Thanks in advance guys

Not realy sure I undersatnd, but it sounds as though you may have a caught a bug that redirects your browser. You say it happens when the page you are trying to load does not load immediatly? It may be the opposite, that the page doesnt load immediatly because your internet browser is being redirected by a virus. If your home page does the same thing then it is allmost deffinetly a virus. Although you wacky British folk may have some weird ISP that I dont undersatnd . My suggestion is to fist remove any and all temporary internet files as well as any cookies, then do a system restore to a point in time before the problem began (a week or two before to be safe ). Just incase you are not sure how to do this ( no offense if you do, but many people dont ): 1) Right click on your internet browser icon that is on your desktop and choose "Properties" 2) click "delete files" 3) click "delete cookies" To do a system restore: 4) Left click "start" 5) Point to "Programs" 6) Point to "Accessories" 7) Point to "System Tools" 8) Left click on "System Restore" 9) Make sure the "Restore system to an earlier time" is the option selected and click "next" 10) Choose a date on the callender to restore to and click "next" 11) Follow the remaining directions The computer will nead to be restarted, it may do this automatically or it may promt you to do so. Hope this helps, if not let us now and we can try some more involved methods and maybe get you spybot to search/destroy any spyware you may have ( couldnt hurt to get spybot anyway tho )

I'm 100% sure that you have a terrible case of spyware/ADware. Whenever your status bar loads from an unknown place it will redirect you to different sites and also change your homepage to a stupid search engine. The solution: go purchase an expensive spyware/ADware remover(if everything you try fails). You should tamper with your security settings at tools/internet options/security/. Or go to your task-manager and end the unfamiliar processes that your system is running like: gator gain, msbb.ex, vg2, vg0, java.ex etc.. there's so many just end the unfamiliar ones.

clave most of the processes that are running in the background would be unfamiliar to most people becasue they are not programs that most people even know they have, so ending them may not be wise.

I know that ending SYSTEM processes can cause system instability. But the ones under your user name and which are unfamiliar to you, end 'em, because the majority of 'em run under your user name. I mean you should know what programs you normally use each day so if you see an unfamiliar one like: gatorgain or something you should end it, because it can bar you from opening files and folders or maybe even bar you from launching a game. I've on serveral occasions had this happen to me and I just end it then the game launched like normal. Anyways, this is just a suggestion that you can try.
