They explain it just fine at the website so here is how they describe it;

GameDrive copies a CD or DVD into a compressed disk-image file, or virtual disc. A driver in the software fools Windows into treating the virtual disc as a physical CD or DVD in a CD-ROM drive. It is possible to create up to 23 virtual drives (D: through Z:) and an unlimited number of virtual discs.

Once a CD has been copied, a virtual image of that disk, or VCD, appears in the GameDrive interface. To launch it, the user inserts it into an open virtual drive or double clicks on a desktop shortcut to the file. With up to 23 virtual drives available instead of just one physical CD/DVD-ROM drive, several virtual disks can run simultaneously.

GameDrive uses FarStone's Rapid Cache® technology to optimize the playback of VCD images, and further enhances disc performance with Virtual Hard Drive technology, which runs in non-swappable physical memory.

The full version costs $30 U.S. for the single user version, and $100 U.S. for the 5-user version. There is a link for an evaluation version, though I am unsure of what it is. I received a free version with a video card I bought and it is limited to creating 3 virtual drives and 5 virtual CDs per drive(which is just fine since I only play 2 games). So the free version from the website might be the same or it may be 30 day trial or something, I don't know, the link doesn't provide any info other then saying that it is an evaluation. It took a few hours to copy an entire CD but now I can put my CDs into storage and not have them cluttering up my desk or getting scratched up. ;D I know a lot of you play a lot of games so even if the evaluation version expires after a while, for $30 it might be worth it to buy the full version.

HERE is a link to the website.
THIS is a link to the free download.

If you're not outraged, then you're not paying attention.
